Bitsy-Borg
Provisional
Specification
This is a
provisional specification of a product consisting of an ADS Bitsy
single board computer and a MicroOptical eyeglass-mounted
display unit, targeted at the OEM developer. The product incorporates
a direct, digital interface between the StrongARM SBC and
the MicroOptical unit, and has integrated battery and battery
charger circuits able to support the unit for extended wireless,
heads up, hands free activity.
The 'BitsyBorg'
incorporates a standard ADS Bitsy unit plus an adaptor card which
brings more I/O out to plugs and terminals and includes the battery
charger circuit as well. The MicroOptical display offers QVGA
and VGA options, in 16 and 24 bit color depths that present themselves
as a 10 degree and 16 degree field of view, respectively.
The BitsyBorg
is I/O-rich offering more communications and input channels than
most wearable units would require allowing engineers to quickly
prototype almost any application. Development platforms with support
are targeted to sell for $5000. OEM production quantities are
available, selectively depopulated, to allow OEMs access to a
cost-effective application-ready platform for a heads-up,
walk around computer, complete with eyeglass-mounted display for
under $2000.
