Embedded Open Source and Applied Data Systems

ADS is associated with the ARM Linux Kernel Project . This project is the focus point for development of Linux kernels and drivers for ARM hardware.

Applied Data Systems has joined the Embedded Linux Consortium, a vendor-neutral trade association dedicated to the advancement of Linux-based solutions in embedded applications.

ADS introduced one of the first embedded Linux single board computer systems on Intel’s StrongARM and XScale platforms. ADS introduced the Linux/ Intel combination on its popular ADS Graphics Client SBC systems, with driver capability to load Linux from PCMCIA ATA cards, on-board flash memory, for a flash file system, serial ports, and the ability to create output on a variety of LCD displays. ADS has placed all of this code in the Open Source Library in acccordance with the community's 'Copyleft' principles.
