Big System Graphics for Small Computers

Until now, CPUs that ran on batteries could not drive serious graphics- the assumption was a QCIF or QVGA display, maybe a monochrome QVGA, was enough. Applied Data pushed this envelope, and then shattered it.

Every system from Applied Data can drive full color VGA resolution TFT or STN displays without flicker or ghosting. Our systems run Polygons on VGA noticeably faster than commercial PDA's manage on QVGA. We have the industy's largest library of TFT and STN drivers, by far.

But even more is possible. Now, via a custom-configured CPLD, Applied Data RISC systems can drive the dual pixel bus demanded by new high-end graphic displays at deep color VGA, SVGA and even XVGA resolution. With a Graphics Accelerator chip included on some new products, Applied Data Systems can display Polygon benchmarks almost ten times as fast as a non-accelerated VGA RISC system.
