ADS Customer
Assurance EOL Policy
Applied Data Systems
has established a history of safeguarding its customers against
the complications of components going end of life (EOL). ADS
provides:
- An Engineering
Change Notice (ECN) policy to handle minor EOL component
announcements, such as resistors, etc. This policy
works with customers to migrate existing platforms as seamlessly
as possible, and minimizing any potential impact on production.
- Product availability
for every customer for two years after a major component
(as defined by ADS, such as a processor, companion chip,
or device chip) is announced to go EOL.
Once a major component
has been announced to go EOL, ADS will work with each of its
customers to identify a transition path or a plan to keep
the product in production for more than the 2 year policy.
In the event of such an EOL announcement, ADS will request
a hard forecast to accommodate our customers schedules,
and apply the following policy:
Termination for customer convenience
To ensure component availability for any scheduled production
forecast, ADS will include in any contract commitments that
will make ADS whole in the event of any termination for customer
convenience. Termination for customer convenience will apply
for all cancelled orders that will include and follow the
EOL period.
ADS policy
is a low risk strategy that focuses on customer assurance,
maximizing and ensuring uptime for production runs. In isolated
cases, ADS will implement best efforts to work with customers
specific situations.
