Scene along Rt. 66 during the American Solar Challenge...Students are recharging their solar cells while the gas pumps get ignored!

Principia College selected ADS' Graphics Master for their solar car, the Ra V, which they drove in the 2003 American Solar Challenge (ASC).

ASC's 2300 mile race along historic Route 66 from Chicago to Claremont, California, is the longest solar car race in the world. All cars must be powered solely by sunshine! Principia students used the Graphics Master for battery management. For example, calculations about the car's speed, weather conditions, topography, etc are vital for planning the ride "real time." The GMaster itself was powered off solar cells, displaying its low power consuming features.

The Ra V came in 4th place, showcasing the future of lower power-consuming technology. ADS is proud of the Principia team and for the little Graphics Master, which is one of the toughest, richest IO products that ADS designs!
