"Eye Society" Powered by ADS! Eye
Society is a project in which a "society" of intelligent cameras solves
calibration and scene-modeling problems through exchange of data. There is no
central server. Adding
a degree of mobility to the cameras will further permit them to rearrange themselves
to take advantage of egomotion and parallax, to verify calibration calculations,
and to better overcome certain problems (e.g. seeking viewpoints with strong three-point
perspective, filling in occluded regions, better modeling occluding object contours). Additional
work relates to the interpretation of images/models in terms of previously-acquired
imagery, in other words describing the differences between observations in physically
and semantically meaningful ways. The
small prototypes are built starting with ADS Bitsy systems. Each is equipped with
a camera with motorized pan/tilt head, IEEE 802.11 wireless networking, and a
motor for traveling along an overhead monorail-style track. On
board, ADSmartIO was an important part of this project. For more information,
