Automation and Instrumentation

Automation and Instrumentation place demands on embedded system designers. With many opportunities driven by regulation, quick to market is important, but long product life and protection from supply-side EOL is also required. Extended temperature specifications and real time performance can be critical, as can intrinsically safe, non-incendiary design. For these applications, high levels of compatibility to industry communications standards are required, and support from a network of system integrators can speed product adoption. Eurotech has provided dozens of instrumentation OEMs with the embedded system at the heart of their instrument, analyzer or device controller.

A sample of our specific customers in automation and instrumentation :

Aqueous Technologies Cleaning System
PXA powered embedded automation
Aqueous Technologies is a worldwide market leader in aqueous cleaning systems, ultrasonic stencil cleaning systems, ionic contamination testers, and cleaning chemistries. Their new SMT Cleaner uses an Eurotech Single Board Computer for its control and HMI system. Read more.
Greer Equipment Automation
Realtime Automation Controller

Greer A division of Dover Industries used Eurotech systems to develop its MicroGuard rated capacity limiter, a device that uses a real-time model of crane load and condition to indicate available load capacity for each lift of the crane. Read more.

PDQ Incorporated Carwash Automation
Carwas Automation Embedded System
PDQ Incorporated wanted a control system to operate their new technology "LaserWash™" car-wash design. The Eurotech embedded systems with on-board I/O provided a reliable solution at much lower cost. Read more.
Pile Cross-Hole Analyzer (CHAMP model)
Pile Cross-hole analyzer

The Cross-Hole Analyzer (CHA) model CHAMP verifies the quality of the concrete of concrete foundations (drilled shafts). The instrument is used in a test that involves lowering a transmitter and a receiver down tubes installed in the shaft. The CHAMP processes the received signals and displays graphs that allow the identification of potential defects in the foundation. Read more.

Pile Integrity Tester
Pile Integrity Tester The Pile Integrity Tester (PIT) is used to confirm the absence of major cracks and voids on concrete foundations. It processes data from one or two accelerometers attached to the top of a foundation element. Data is obtained by impacting the top of the foundation with a small hand-held hammer. Analysis of the graphs displayed on the PIT screen allow the tester to identify potential problems on the foundation. The computer is a Eurotech Bitsy running Windows® CE and programmed by Pile Dynamics, incorporating their modeling and data analysis software. Read more.
Sunrise Telecom Cable Tester
Windows CE Analyzer Eurotech engineers worked with Sunrise to develop the CaLan N1776A, which combines the functions of a spectrum analyzer, network sweep system, digital modulation analyzer, signal level meter and IP tester.

This was a very complete port of the Windows CE OS; every icon on the desktop works!. Read more.
Vehicle to Grid power
Electric Vehicle

Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) control and regulation presents a mechanism to meet key requirements of the electric power system, using electric vehicles when they are parked and underutilized. Eurotech supported the University of Delaware with a Viper SBC for this important project.
