Under contract to the U.S. Army, Raytheon is developing the Excalibur — the world’s first artillery projectile to be guided by a global positioning system (GPS). Excalibur is a 155 mm artillery round with the accuracy to destroy targets in first-round fire from ranges up to 30 miles. While the ADS system does not actually ride on the shell, it does go into the field with the gun. We can build them tough.
